Post Offices nationwide will be open Christmas Eve, Tuesday, Dec. 24, and New Year’s Eve, Tuesday, Dec. 31. But most will close by noon on these days.
Regular mail delivery will be unaffected by changes in retail hours.
Post Offices will be closed Dec. 25 and Jan. 1. Only Priority Mail Express will be delivered on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. All Post Offices will be open and regular mail delivery will resume Dec. 26 and Jan. 2.
Blue collection boxes with scheduled pickup times before 12 p.m. will not be affected by these changes. However, mail in boxes with pickup times scheduled after 12 p.m. may be collected early.
Employees should advise customers to deposit their mail in collection boxes by 12 p.m. for early pickup Dec. 24 and Dec. 31. Customers requiring services later on those days should contact their local Post Offices.
Business mail entry unit employees should advise commercial customers to check with them for specific information regarding holiday hours of operation.
