The United States Postal Service says it is looking for ways to speed delivery of the mail after mail sorting was moved from Albany to Tallahassee last month.

Stephen A. Seewoester, a Corporate Communications person with the US Postal Service’s North Florida and Arkansas District issued this statement to WALB Monday morning:

“Let me assure you the Postal Service constantly seeks ways to improve service to customers and meet or exceed the standards that have been set.

  1. if the postal service is doing so good at getting the mail out of the processing centers on time, why was our mail late getting to the post office 3 days last week. they have merged anther processing center with ours and the mail is coming later and later.

  2. I hear they’re closing manasota in Bradenton. I’m afraid the same is gonna happen here. We might as well come in at 10:00 a.m.

  3. because they added the extra work and then decided it might be a good idea to start hiring workers. It’ll be another 2 weeks before they’re up to staff.

Im in an area of the country that has just had 3 processing plants shut down and moved and believe me when I tell you that I would appreciate getting my mail by 10AM. It’s usually 11:00 to 11:45. Our mail has been late everyday since Feb. 23. Try this with a J46 and dispatch leaving at 4:45PM!
