NRLCA: PRESIDENT RELEASES FY2013 BUDGET – PROPOSES ELIMINATING SATURDAY DELIVERY

February 13, 2012No Comments

On Monday, February 13, President Obama released the Administration’s Budget Proposal for 2013.  In the budget proposal, the Administration included many proposals affecting the Postal Service, including allowing the USPS to reduce mail delivery from 6 to 5 days starting in January 2013.  The proposal also supports returning the FERS pension surplus, determined by OPM to be worth approximately $10.9 billion, back to the USPS.  The budget proposal calls for half of the money to be returned in 2012, and the other half returned in 2013.
