With all the talk of eliminating Saturday delivery I dug up this gem from 2009.   This is what the USPS presented to the Postal Regulatory Commission (PRC) in 2009 to show the effect of eliminating Saturday delivery on rural routes.   Of course we have no idea how they came up with these numbers or what figures they used but it shows you the average loss they expect for rural routes.

K routes would lose an average of 303 minutes

J routes would lose an average of 281 minutes

H routes would lose an average of 257 minutes

Aux routes would lose an average of 151 minutes

Here is the link to the actual paper presented to the PRC in the 2009 hearings on eliminating Saturday delivery
